The Mexico international, 27, was on the bench as Manchester United crashed to a 2-1 defeat at Swansea City. However, having been loaned out last season, the ‘Little Pea’ has not started a Premier League match for a year.
The forward had scored 59 goals in 156 appearances for Manchester United in his five years stay after joining from hometown club Chivas de Guadalajara in 2010.
The poacher claimed he wanted to be happy and signing for Leverkusen had made him feel important again.
