Petr Cecha s agent Viktor Kolar has confirmed that his client has been granted permission by Chelsea FC to have discussions with other interested clubs.
Kolar said: a Petr has a valid contract with his current club, however, I can confirm that we have been permitted by Chelsea to negotiate with interested parties and Petr has confirmed his interest to play regularly at a top club.a
The Czech Republic goalkeeper has almost spent a decade at Chelsea and has been the first choice goalkeeper over the years. But at the beginning of this season, club manager Jose Mourinho decided to bring in on loan custodian Thibaut Courtois from Atletico Madrid. Since the Belgiana s arrival, Cech has permanently lost his place to the former and has featured in just 16 matches in the season. His performance for the club has been decent. In 6 Premier League games, he has kept 5 clean sheets and he also featured in the final of Capitol One Cup, where Chelsea defeated Tottenham Hotspurs to clinch the title.
The 32-year-old who has still a year left in his contract is expected to move out of the club by the end of this season. Several top Premier League and other European clubs have already showed interest in roping in the goalkeeper.
At Chelsea, Petr Cech has won four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, one Champions League and one Europa League title.
