Memphis Tops The Premier League, Messi Worldwide In Jersey Sales

With the international break coming to a close, Kitbag have revealed the top 10 selling replica jerseys across Europe and four time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi leads the sales.

The biggest surprise of the top 10 is probably that of Manchester United’s latest star Memphis Depay, who is just behind Messi and Ronaldo at no. 3 in the list. The Red Devils’ New No. 7 has not lit up the Premier League as was expected of him, but he has helped his new club with a commercial windfall through shirt sales.

The stats also reveal some other shocking details, one of them support the argument that the English Premier League is the most popular football league in the world, with 7 out of the top 10 plying their trade in England. Only Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar are the footballers outside of England to feature in the top 10.

What is probably the most startling of it all is that, no player from the Italian, German or French league feature in the list.

Memphis is also not the only Manchester United player to feature in the list. The Old Trafford outfit have the most players in the top 10 with 3 – Bastian Schweinsteiger at fourth and Wayne Rooney at 6th also make the cut.
