Manchester United Target Paul Pogba Will Not Leave Juventus, Claims Max Allegri

Juventus are not worried about losing Paul Pogba, according to coach Massimiliano Allegri, with the French midfielder contracted to the Serie A club until June 2019.

Earlier this week, Pogba‘s agent Mino Raiola sparked speculations that his client is about to leave Turin, claiming Juventus will not be able to pay the 21 year-old enough to keep him forever. Raiola declared Pogba will leave “either this year or the next, when it’s the right moment” but when asked about the talented midfielder’s future last night, Allegri insisted he has no plans to sell the former Manchester United player.

“Juventus can afford Pogba because he already plays for Juventus,” he told RAI Sport after his side’s 6-1 triumph over Verona in the Coppa Italia.

“It’s only normal that all of Europe wants him, as he’s only 21 years old and immensely talented.”

“We need some reinforcements to complete this squad, having lost Asamoah and Romulo for three months. If we dona t find replacements up to their standard, then ita s only right to let our youngsters develop and play.”

“That everyone wants Pogba is, I think, normal: he is young, already a great player and he can still improve further, he hasn’t reached his full potential yet. But let’s concentrate on the present: we don’t know what will happen in June.”

Pogba has played 15 games in Serie A this season, helping Juventus to a three-point lead over Roma, scoring four goals and notching two assists. Despite his youth, the versatile midfielder has already made 22 senior appearances for France, quickly becoming a key man for coach Didier Deschamps, while this season has seen Pogba take another step up with Juventus. The France midfielder has been linked with a return to United, as well as moves to Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

Pogba, 21, signed a three-year contract extension with the Bianconeri in October, tying him to the Turin club until 2019, which L’Equipe reports made him the third-highest paid player in the Italian top flight. Despite the new deal, the former Manchester United midfielder, who has established himself as one of the game’s finest young talents since leaving Old Trafford and joining Juve in 2012, could quit the club, according to his agent. Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta told Sky Italia this week that “all the European clubs are watching him and have been in contact with us” but added: “We don’t have a need to sell him.” Paris Saint-Germain and United are reported to be keen to sign the midfielder, while Mediaset has claimed Real Madrid may offer 100 million euros and wages worth 10 million euros a season.
