Manchester City Lead The Race To Sign Raheem Sterling

According to reports, Manchester City FC are the front-runners to sign Liverpool FC’s young midfielder Raheem Sterling this summer.Raheem Sterling’s future with the Reds is under speculation as the English winger has refused to sign a fresh contract deal with the club. He turned down an offer worth A?100,000-per-week. Sterling’s agent also had revealed yesterday that the English star will not stay at the club under any circumstances.

Manchester City have had their eyes glued on Sterling for a long time, even before the transfer rumors had reached fever-pitch in the media. It is believed that the English star is keen to stay on in the Premier League itself even though other European giants have shown interest in the winger.

Along with the Citizens, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea too are keen to rope in the talented 20-year-old English player. Liverpool, who are still hoping to convince Sterling, have reportedly rejected Manchester United’s first bid.

Raheem Sterling will perfectly fit into Manuel Pellegrini’s side. The Chilean manager is looking forward to reshape his squad after the club had a relatively poor season this time. They failed to defend their Premier League title and also did not win a single title this season. Sterling joining the likes of David Silva, Sergio Aguero et al could make City a very tempting proposition.
