Liverpool had hoped to spark a bidding war for Raheem Sterling, but, with Arsenal FC and Chelsea FC prioritizing other players over the wantaway Liverpool winger, City are sure that they will be able to secure him for lesser price.

Sterling has turned down a new A?100,000-a-week contract. The Liverpool FC winger made it clear that he will not sign a new deal claiming that his decision is based on a desire to win trophies rather than financial gain. His agent Aidy Ward is alleged to have claimed even a a A?900,000-a-weeka offer from Liverpool would not be enough to tempt him into penning a new deal.
Sterling has two years left on his contract and with his value set to drop rapidly in the coming 12 months, Liverpool could cash in on him. Manchester City are believed to be readying a ‘take it, or leave it’ 40 million offer to the Anfield side this week.
