27-year-old Mexican striker Javier Hernandez was a much loved figure at Old Trafford, but found himself excess to the requirements of manager Louis Van Gaal. He has not let that get in the way of his game though as he is breaking records in Germany for Bayer Leverkusen.
Javier ‘Chicarito’ Hernandez had a loan spell at Real Madrid in the 2014-15 season, which also made him a name to remember in Spain after he scored a couple of braces and even scored the winner in the hotly contested Madrid derby. But despite this, he was deemed not good enough for Manchester United by Dutch manager Louis Van Gaal and was sold to the German club for a reported fee of A?7.3 million over the summer.
Hernandez, who is a seasoned goal poacher, banging them in from close range, has not let this rejection from his much beloved club get in the way of his footballing career and instead has set his mind on breaking records. His goals in seven successive matches for Bayer have helped him surpass Hugo Sanchez six-game record for Real Madrid and his six league goals made him the highest scoring Mexican of all time in the Bundesliga. With his banishment of Javier Hernandez, LVG not only let go of a popular player at Old Trafford, but also a good goal scoring option up front. His 12-goal haul for Bayer Leverkusen so far, surpasses the tally of Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney combined, and this will warrant some heavy criticism for the Dutch manager.
