If You Want Me, Get Suarez Too — Pep Guardiola Demands From His Prospective New Club

The prospective future of Pep Guardiola has been making the headlines with the Spaniard set to leave Bayern Munich this summer, but it appears he already has a demand before even choosing his next destination.

Guardiola will be looking to raid his former club Barcelona for one of their top players as soon as he makes his way to a new club.

According to The Daily Star, “One of his requests will then be that a world-record bid of A?100 million is made for Suarez, 28. Clearly, it would be difficult to prise the former Liverpool star away from Barcelona… When Suarez was leaving Liverpool, Guardiola wanted to take him to Bayern, but lost out in a A?71m battle with Barca.”

The prolific striker has formed a lethal partnership at Barcelona with fellow South Americans Neymar Jr. and Lionel Messi since moving from Liverpool and would be difficult to sign as he’s in the form of his life. But then the missing link here could be that Suarez’s agent is none other than Pep’s brother Pere Guardiola, which could have some significant effect on the possibility of this deal happening.

Guardiola can pick and choose

The Spanish manager’s success at Barcelona and Bayern Munich means that he can choose from any top club in Europe and there are suitors aplently, especially in the rich circle of the Premier League.

Manuel Pellegrini has maintained City’s position near the top of the table and seen them through to the Champions League knockout stages. However, Manchester City have been long term admirers of Guardiola, and Manuel Pellegrini, through no fault of his own, could end up being collateral damage in City’s eagerness to sign Guardiola. Across town, Manchester United are going through a terrible season under Louis van Gaal and the fans are clamoring for a replacement. Meanwhile, in London, the original rich kids on the block Chelsea FC, have just sacked their iconic manager Jose Mourinho for the second time.

.

All three of these clubs have the firepower to get Pep Guardiola and give him a blank cheque to sign any player he deems fit, including the likes of Luis Suarez.
