Chelsea FC fans react on Twitter to news about Manuel Pellegrini potentially taking over at Stamford Bridge after Mourinho

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has been linked with the manager’s job at Chelsea FC following the departure of Jos Mourinho, with the club’s technical director Michael Emenalo reportedly keen to bring in the Chilean after Guus Hiddink sees out the rest of the season

With Carlo Ancelotti committing his future to Bayern Munich, Diego Simeone distancing himself from a move away from the Spanish capital, and Pep Guardiola reportedly all but agreeing to become the next Manchester City manager, the Blues have set themselves a difficult task to find a permanent replacement for Mourinho.

.

A story on Fox Sports by Duncan Castles — a journalist known to have very good sources at Stamford Bridge — suggested Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is being considered by the club as the next manager, with technical director Michael Emenalo particularly keen on the Chilean.

Chelsea FC fans not happy to hear Pellegrini rumours

Although a few supporters said they would support the appointment, most reacted negatively to the news. Pellegrini has had some digs at the Blues’ and their beloved manager Jos Mourinho in the recent past, and the 62-year-old would certainly not be the most popular choice to take over at Stamford Bridge.

His record also does not quite match that of Pep Guardiola’s or Diego Simeone’s, with the two being the most popular choices among Chelsea supporters as replacements for the Portuguese.

Here are some of the reactions from the Blues’ faithful to the Pellegrini rumours:

If we get Pellegrini, United get Mourinho and City get Guardiola – we are screwed! #CFC #Chelsea

If Chelsea get Pellegrini, it’ll just show what direction we’re going in. And it’s not a positive direction. Pep or Simeone ONLY!

The thought of Chelsea possibly hiring Pellegrini at the end of the season…Roman should wise up.

a Tlou (@KagzCollen) December 21, 2015

I don’t want Pellegrini anywhere near Chelsea

a Bellarabi (@HaseeB_Mo) December 21, 2015

Exactly why Pellegrini shouldn’t go anywhere near Chelsea. Has a far superior squad to everyone else in the league and cocks it up.

Can’t believe Chelsea might be getting Pellegrini as Jose’s long term replacement. He’s too old/dull & won’t excite/enthuse players or fans.

a Roxy Camp (@RoxyCoreActive) December 21, 2015

Beyond me why the Chelsea board would even consider Pellegrini to replace Jose ?Y?

a . (@YAH_xo) December 21, 2015

These last two Manchester City seasons are more of a reason I dona t want Pellegrini as next Chelsea manager.

a Clay Thomas Merritt (@NotClayMerritt) December 21, 2015

Listless, aimless, arrogant performance from City which would do Chelsea at their worst proud. No wonder Emenalo wants to hire Pellegrini.

a Andrew Turmer (@AndrewTurmer) December 21, 2015

I just hope this Pellegrini to Chelsea talk ends tonight, don’t want that hold man that cries when they beat his team.

a apase A?b lA? (@apaseakoladeayo) December 21, 2015

I hope Chelsea are not bringing Manuel Pellegrini to replace Mourinho, because that will be a disaster

a Olusegun (@hafizsegun) December 21, 2015

Stop it with the Pellegrini to Chelsea rumours please… I don’t wanna be embarrassed by Arsenal in the future.
