Arsenal FC Battle Chelsea For FC Barcelona Sensation Munir: Report

.

With Lukas Podolski having joined Galatasaray, Arsenal FC have reportedly turned their attention to FC Barcelona winger Munir El Haddadi with Chelsea FC also keen on the player.

Chelsea FC and Arsenal FC are both said to be keen admirers of Munir, but, according to Express, who cite the Spanish paper Marca, claim that only Arsenal have made an official approach for the Spanish winger.

According to the report, LuisEnrique is reluctant to let the talented winger leave on either loan or a transfer, and has apparently already rejected a bid from Ajax for the player.

However, Munir faces a huge challenge breaking into Barcelona’s starting XI, with Suarez, Lionel Messi, Neymar and Pedro all ahead of him in the pecking order.

While Chelsea FC’s interest in bringing in an attacking wide player is well documented with the club reportedly interested in, both, Pedro Rodriguez of FC Barcelona and Antoine Greizmann of Atletico Madrid, it remains unclear why the club would go for another young player given that they already have Mohamed Salah out on loan who has done very well in his spell with Fiorentina.

Arsenal FC are also pursuing a deal for Munir’s FC Barcelona team mate Pedro and the club, again, has enough funds to secure the deal for Pedro.

If reports in the Catalan media are to be believed, Pedro is looking for a way out and it would only open the door for Munir to play a bigger role for FC Barcelona as well as the club would be reluctant to sell the player in order to provide cover for Neymar, Messi, or Suarez.
