Liverpool are looking land ex-Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o as Brendan Rodgers looks to make his final few additions before the end of the transfer window.
The Reds are reportedly discussing a move for Samuel Etoai??i??o and the 33 year old is being discussed as a potential candidate for the club as Liverpool prepare to enforce the strike force. After the deal for Loic Remy collapsed, the need for adding another forward to the Reds squad became more obvious than ever.
The Guardian states that the player’s name is just under discussion for now, but the Cameroon international is now a possible target:Ai??The 33-year-old is a free agent having been released by Chelsea at the end of last season and has held talks with Ajax over a move to Amsterdam. Liverpool have not made an offer to the former Real Madrid, Barcelona and Internazionale goalscorer as yet, and are discussing several names, but Etoai??i??o has emerged as a possible target.
Fabio Borini’s future with the Merseyside club is very uncertain at the moment. Gus Poyet clearly wants to add the Italian to his Sunderland squad and Liverpool are willing to part ways and aAi??A?14 million bid was accepted by the Reds two weeks ago. However, the ex-Roma man was said to have told Brendan Rodgers that he wants to fight for his chances with the club and prove his worth on the back of a good loan season with Sunderland.
Liverpool are getting an extremely good deal for Borini and will have to make sure the negotiations are not stalled.Ai??Poyet still seems keen as he said that the Black Cats were still working on a deal.

In case Borini does move to Sunderland, Liverpool will be left with only two out and out strikers- Daniel Sturridge and Rickie Lambert- which is just not good enough for a team competing in four competitions, including the Champions League. There is absolutely no doubt that Rodgers needs to add a striker to the team before the end of the transfer window.
The 33-year-old is a shocking name to emerge out of discussions and certainly one that does not fit FSG’s transfer profile. However, his experience can come in handy for the Liverpool side which is a comparatively younger one. And while Eto’o carries some baggage, he still scores goals as was visible in his previous season with Chelsea where he managed 12 goals and 6 assists in 34 appearances. Besides, for now, his name has only appeared in discussions as a possible target.
