Inquizitivity – Quiz 15

By now, I guess you are quite aware of Chain-Quizzing(c)TheHardTackle, guess the names, get the points. Bonus points for answering last question.

Question 1:

A favorite of the number 15 shirt, ‘A’ wore that jersey number for most of his clubs and country. He is the captain of his national team. At his previous club, only after a certain player had vacated that jersey, he could take it up. ‘A’ had attained Spanish Citizenship when he played there for 3 seasons. A super-talent at an early age (15) ‘A’ spent one year at the academy at Ajax.

Question 2:

‘That certain player’ who vacated the jersey for ‘A’ when the former moved to another club, played two seasons for Pompey, seven years apart. ‘B’ played with ‘A’ for one year before moving for his second spell to Pompey. ‘B’ is famous for scoring a ‘Perfect hat-trick’ (right leg, left leg, header) against Arsenal a few years back.

Question 3:

‘C’ is a retired English referee. He had once made a comment about ‘B’, asking his compatriots to keep a close watch on ‘B’ mentioning that he is getting away very easily. Considered as one of the greatest referees of all time, he once, infamously, gave three yellow cards to the same player in a World Cup match. He had ‘reff’ed one UEFA Cup final in his life-time.

‘D’ had once made a controversial statement about ‘C’ citing lack of protection from the latter and ‘labeling him as a typical English referee’. One-Club Man ‘D’ is a legend at his club. ‘D’ owns a football school called ‘Number Ten’. He is the highest goal-scorer in the history of his club.

Question 5:

In a very controversial incident in an Euro match, ‘D’ spat on ‘E’, leading to the former’s suspension. ‘E’ was ‘Player of the year’ for his country for two consecutive years. ‘E’ played 4 years in Germany, followed by 2 years in Spain, 2 years in Italy followed by his move to England this summer.

Question 6:

‘F’ currently plays at the club ‘E’ played for when he was at Spain for two years. ‘F’ had a very unsuccessful three-year spell at a top club in Spain. ‘F’ has had an injury-prone career though he has represented his country in two World Cups. He played all the matches for his country in the last Euro (2008).

‘G’, an Englishman, has had a similar career curve like ‘F’ in terms of three unsuccessful years at that same club and injury woes. They both play in a similar position. He was once voted as the ‘Worst Signing of the 21^st Century in that particular league’.

‘H’, a Scottish, played with ‘G’ during the latter’s initial days of his senior career. Fans of ‘H’ still remember the goal he scored against AC Milan at San Siro in the UEFA CL, giving him a cult-hero status. ‘H’ played 8 years for the club ‘E’ currently plays in.

Question 9:

‘I’ currently plays for the club ‘H’ played his last club football. ‘I’ is famous for one particular ability of his, as a footballer, quite a rare commodity among footballers. In fact, the design of his club pitch has been changed to ‘aid’ him in carrying out his ‘thing’, his ‘forte’ rather. ‘I’ has assisted 29 goals in ‘this’ unique fashion.
