Bernardo Silva is reportedly waiting for Barcelona to make an offer to sign him, with Manchester City likely to demand €100 million for him.
According to a report by Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Bernardo Silva is waiting for Barcelona to approach Manchester City over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The Premier League champions will demand around €100 million to part ways with the Portuguese international.
Bernardo Silva first burst into the limelight during his spell with AS Monaco, especially when he inspired the principality club to win the Ligue 1 title in 2016/17. The 27-year-old joined Manchester City in July 2017 and has since gone from strength to strength. While he has been a rotation option at times, he has remained a pivotal contributor throughout his stint.
The Portuguese international has made 251 appearances for Manchester City thus far, chipping in with 48 goals and 51 assists. But despite recently signing a new contract with the Premier League champions, Silva wants to embark on a new adventure in the summer transfer window, with Barcelona his preferred destination.
The Catalan giants consider Silva as a possible replacement for Frenkie de Jong, who faces an uncertain future at Camp Nou. Barcelona will likely look to cash in on the Dutch midfielder to balance the books and fund moves in the summer transfer window.
Recent reports have also suggested that Barcelona could offer a possible swap deal to Manchester City to land Silva. And the Blaugrana will have received renewed hope in the pursuit of the 27-year-old, who awaits an offer from them to Manchester City over a possible move in the summer transfer window.
But Silva could be beyond Barcelona’s reach, with Manchester City demanding around €100 million to part ways with the Portuguese international, as per MARCA. With the purpose of selling de Jong being to raise funds, it is unlikely that Barcelona will be able to afford to pay €100 million to sign Silva.

Silva will not force a move to Barcelona either, meaning Manchester City will not have the impetus to lower the asking price. Nonetheless, the ball is in Barcelona’s court, and it will be interesting to see if they will submit an offer to sign the 27-year-old in the summer transfer window.
