Barcelona have been handed a major boost in pursuit of Manchester City duo Bernardo Silva and Joao Cancelo, who are both keen on a summer move.
According to a report by Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Bernardo Silva and Joao Cancelo are keen on making the switch to Camp Nou in the summer transfer window. Barcelona have reportedly prepared an offer to swoop the Portuguese duo from Manchester City.
Bernardo Silva and Joao Cancelo have both proven to be valuable assets for Manchester City since arriving at the Etihad. Silva has been a part of the club since the summer of 2017, joining the Citizens on the back of a splendid campaign with AS Monaco. At City, the Portuguese international has been in and out of the starting lineup in recent times but has delivered more often than not.
Cancelo, on the other hand, took some time to get going after joining City from Juventus two years ago. However, this past season, the 27-year-old proved to be one of the better performers in a largely successful campaign, which ended with a domestic double. Cancelo and Silva have now popped up on the radar of Barcelona, with Manchester City reportedly open to offloading them.
A bizarre summer transfer window seems to be taking shape, with Barcelona tipped to make a huge raid on Manchester City. While the Blaugrana have already signed Eric Garcia and Sergio Aguero on free transfers, they have also been linked with nearly half-a-dozen more players who currently ply their trade at the Etihad.
These include Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling, with Silva and Cancelo the latest names to have emerged on their radar. In fact, Barcelona are set to propose a shock double swap deal, which would see Sergi Roberto and Ousmane Dembele depart Camp Nou, with Silva and Cancelo headed the other way.
At a time when the effects of the coronavirus pandemic have crippled Barcelona financially, swap deals could well be the way forward for them. And with Manchester City already showing interest in Sergi Roberto, there is a feeling that a deal could be engineered, with Dembele holding the key.

Now, Barcelona have been handed a major boost in pursuit of Silva and Cancelo, with the Portuguese duo keen on making the switch to Camp Nou. Their addition would be a step in the right direction for the Catalan giants as well, as Silva can be an alternative to Georginio Wijnaldum while also taking Philippe Coutinho’s place in the squad.
Cancelo, on the other hand, could be a like-for-like replacement for Roberto in addition to being a possible option at left-back. With both the Portuguese internationals ready to join Barcelona, what now remains to be seen is Manchester City are open to a double swap, and if Roberto and Dembele will accept the switch to the Etihad as well.
