Jose Mourinho insists that Juan Cuadrado will not be leaving Chelsea FC in the summer amidst interest from Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, and AS Roma.
Chelsea FC had signed the 27-year-old former Colombian winger in a a 40m deal from Serie A side Fiorentina. But Cuadrado . has struggled to make any impact for the club which is reflected in his contribution of no goals of assists for the club.
The winger has been linked with moves to Inter Milan and Roma with his agent preparing to meet Chelsea FC bosses to discuss his future. His strong performances for Fiorentina make him a target for the Serie A clubs who were joined in the race for the winger by Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
However, Jose Mourinho has reiterated his desire to keep the Colombian having lost out on Pedro Rodriguez who chose to renew his Barcelona contract and increasingly looking likely that Antoine Greizmann’s asking price will be too much given that the club will not be able to recoup a significant chunk of the money invested in the Frenchman by selling Cuadrado.
Mourinho offering a new lease of life to Cuadrado at Chelsea FC, said: “Cuadrado is not going anywhere this summer.”
“People don’t know Cuadrado yet, I have seen him many times when we were both in Italy, me at Inter and him at Udinese.”
“Because of that I have a lot of hopes for him for next season. I hope in the Copa America he can regain his self-esteem, his ego and that he has that joy of playing.”
Chelsea FC are set to bring another Colombian to Stamford Bridge, as move for Radamel Falcao is understood to be close with Mourinho confirming the interest last night.
Mourinho has also confirmed that Chelsea FC are set to sign three news players this summer to add competition in his Premier League winning squad.
