Tottenham Hotspur are considering a late move for Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk after being presented with the opportunity to sign the Ukraine international.
The 25-year-old has returned to action this summer and his future at Stamford Bridge is once again under discussion, with Leeds United, Coventry City, and RC Strasbourg also monitoring his situation.
According to reports in Spain via Fichajes, Tottenham are now assessing whether to turn their interest into a formal move as Roberto De Zerbi continues looking for additional quality in wide areas.
De Zerbi knows Mudryk well
Mudryk is a particularly familiar option for De Zerbi, who previously worked with the winger during his time at Shakhtar Donetsk. That relationship could become significant if Spurs decide to move forward, particularly as the 25-year-old looks to rebuild momentum after a lengthy spell away from competitive football.
His anti-doping case was resolved on July 31, allowing him to return to Chelsea training. He subsequently featured in a pre-season friendly against Juventus. Mudryk has made 53 Premier League appearances, registering five goals and four assists, since Chelsea signed him from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023.
The Blues committed around €70 million in guaranteed fees, with further add-ons included in the agreement, while Mudryk remains under contract until 2031.
Leeds among others are also in the race
Chelsea are exploring different solutions to provide Mudryk with regular playing time and Leeds have already submitted a loan proposal, although Chelsea rejected the initial terms. Talks are understood to remain open. Coventry have also asked about his availability, while Strasbourg represent another possible destination through their close relationship with Chelsea.
A loan currently appears more realistic than a permanent transfer given Mudryk’s contract, limited recent football and Chelsea’s significant original investment. That leaves Tottenham with a decision over whether to enter what could become a crowded late-window race.
Mudryk would be a high-risk but potentially intriguing option for Tottenham as De Zerbi already knows the player and may feel he can recreate the confidence that made Mudryk such an exciting prospect at Shakhtar.
The obvious concern is his lack of competitive football. A prolonged absence means there is no guarantee he can immediately perform at Premier League level. If Chelsea are open to a straightforward loan, though, Tottenham could see this as a relatively low-risk opportunity to add pace and depth without committing to another major permanent fee.
