Everton will compete with Napoli for Arthur Atta

Everton may have to compete with Napoli in the race for Arthur Atta ahead of the summer, as the Udinese midfielder continued to impress.

Arthur Atta could be a big attraction in Serie A ahead of the summer, as many teams are angling for a move for the Udinese midfielder. As per Sports Witness, Everton are in the mix for the midfielder, while they may have to compete against the likes of Napoli, who could lure him in with Champions League football.

Everton could anticipate European football next season, with the club still in with a chance to finish in Europa League or Conference League places via their league standing. Hence, there’s an urgency to sign some quality players in the close season, as David Moyes could eye a midfielder to improve their ranks in that department.

Arthur Atta is a name on their list, as Everton are ready to fight Fulham for the midfielder’s signature. The Udinese star has been impressive in Serie A this season, while many have noted his performances against the big teams in Italy, as he bossed against AC Milan while also being in focus in the game against Inter Milan this term.

Fulham failed with a bid in January, which has led to speculation that they may still retain an interest. However, Everton are keen to bring the player in to bolster their squad, with Udinese seeking at least €20 million for the Frenchman.

The financial side would suit the Toffees, although their inability to offer Champions League football could potentially hurt their chances, as per the report. Within the story, there’s a suggestion of big interest from Italy, as Everton may have to battle Napoli for Atta’s signature.

Napoli in pole position for Arthur Atta?

Napoli are anticipating a few midfield departures, namely key men Stanislav Lobotka and Frank Anguissa, which would require massive work in the window to replace them. Antonio Conte might view Atta as the ideal star to come into this Napoli side to help them improve.

AC Milan and Inter Milan are also keen, but Napoli are making headway in the chase. Everton might have a good enough chance if they were to offer lucrative financial terms as well as the big chance to play in the Premier League, although Napoli might be the favourites at this stage of the saga.
