Bayern Munich have realistic chance of signing Anthony Gordon this summer

Bayer Munich are in pole position to sign Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon, amidst links with Arsenal and Liverpool.

Anthony Gordon could end up pushing for a move away from Newcastle United this summer.  He has been heavily linked with an exit, and according to Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich have a realistic chance of signing the English international.

While Arsenal and Liverpool are also keen on his signature, the German giants are well-placed to get a deal over the line. After making a name for himself at Everton, Gordon made the move to Newcastle at the start of 2023, and he hasn’t looked back since.

The 25-year-old has featured in a total of 152 matches for the Magpies and has contributed towards 67 goals. He has been an integral part of Eddie Howe’s team in recent seasons. His ability to take on defenders and ease past them has helped the Tyneside club trouble the best of defences in Europe.

While his contract runs until 2030, Gordon’s future is now up in the air. Reports suggest he could be open to a move away or could even push for an exit this summer. The English international wants to play for a bigger club. He seems keen on fighting for major titles.

European giants are after Gordon

Amidst uncertainty around his future, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Arsenal have emerged as potential destinations. His ball-playing abilities, along with his versatility, make him a very tempting option for all three clubs.

The Gunners seek an upgrade on the left flank, and they believe Gordon could be the missing piece in their jigsaw. As far as Liverpool are concerned, they are looking to bolster their flanks. They seek more quality in the final third, with Mohamed Salah leaving after the end of the season.

Bayern Munich are leading the race

The Newcastle winger, with his versatility, could prove to be a very valuable addition to Liverpool’s frontline. However, it seems Bayern Munich are front-runners for his signature. They are not giving up on their desire to sign the English winger because they believe there is a realistic chance of bringing him to Munich ahead of next season.

He is a top target for them to further bolster the left flank. Personal terms are not going to be a problem, but Munich will have to strike a deal with Newcastle, which won’t be that straightforward.
