Liverpool have doubts about Alisson Becker amid Juventus links

Premier League champions Liverpool reportedly have “question marks” over the long-term future of 33-year-old Brazilian international Alisson Becker ahead of the summer.

According to a report by Football Insider, Liverpool shot-stopper Alisson Becker is the subject of interest from Juventus. The Serie A giants are eager to reinforce their first-team squad by signing a world-class goalkeeper in the upcoming transfer window, as Luciano Spalletti wants an upgrade between the sticks.

The report has brought good news for the Bianconeri, as Liverpool’s decision makers “are understood to be “disappointed” with the number of games that the 33-year-old has missed so far” in the 2025/26 season. With the Merseyside outfit having “question marks” about the South American shot-stopper’s future, a return to Serie A may be on the cards.

Alisson Becker and his legendary Liverpool stint

Alisson Becker has been arguably the world’s best goalkeeper since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in a deal worth €62.5 million in July 2018. The 33-year-old has made exponential progress in the last eight seasons, having been a mainstay between the sticks for his club and country during this period.

The Brazilian international has made nearly 350 appearances thus far for Liverpool while keeping 137 clean sheets and conceding 305 goals. However, the veteran goalkeeper has struggled with fitness issues in recent seasons, and amid emerging “question marks” on his future, Juventus will aim to pounce and take him back to Serie A in the coming months.

Serie A return on the horizon?

Juventus’s interest in Alisson Becker makes sense. The Serie A top-four hopefuls are scouring the market for a world-class goalkeeper, as Michele Di Gregorio and Mattia Perin have not been consistent enough between the sticks. So, Luciano Spalletti wants a more reliable shot-stopper this summer.

Several candidates, including Guglielmo Vicario, have thus emerged on Juventus’s wishlist, with Alisson also a viable target. However, recent reports have suggested that Liverpool may not sell the experienced goalkeeper in the upcoming transfer window.

That may have changed after the latest update due to the Merseyside club’s “disappointment” over the 33-year-old Brazilian international’s fitness issues. So, Juventus will hope this leads to Alisson’s departure from Anfield, paving the way for the Liverpool star to return to Serie A.
