Arsenal set to demand €70-80 million to sell Kai Havertz

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are reportedly set to demand €70-80 million to sanction the departure of Kai Havertz this summer.

Arsenal are leading the race for the Premier League title and have made it to the semi-finals of the Champions League. While they are closing in on their goal of winning a major title under Mikel Arteta, the Gunners have already started planning for next season.

The North London club wants to take the next step. They are looking to establish themselves as one of the most dominant forces in Europe. As a result, they are looking to make significant changes to their squad. The focus will be on new signings, but a few of their stars will be offloaded. According to a report from Fichajes, they are willing to negotiate Kai Havertz’s departure, and have set an asking price of €70-80 million.

Havertz made a name for himself while playing for Chelsea. While he wasn’t consistent enough, Mikel Arteta still pushed hard to secure his services during the summer of 2023. The 57-cap German international has been an integral part of the Arsenal setup ever since.

While the 26-year-old prefers playing up top, Arteta has used him across the front line as well as in midfield. He has had a prominent role over the years, but the arrival of Viktor Gyokeres has pushed him down the pecking order.

Arsenal are ready to sell Havertz

Arteta now prefers having the Swedish striker up top because of his strong physical presence and ability to hold up play. Havertz was out injured for the entire first half of the season. While he is back fit, he is no longer a guaranteed starter.

As a result, Arteta and the club are now considering sanctioning his departure this summer. While his contract runs until 2028 and he is loving life in North London, the Gunners could force him out if they receive a significant financial offer from interested clubs.

They have set a price tag of €70-80 million for the German international. They are looking to cash in on him, as it will make room on their wage bill and give them enough funds to make significant additions to their squad. In simple terms, his departure will help bolster other positions on the pitch.
