Real Madrid ready to sell Gonzalo Garcia for €30 million

Real Madrid will reportedly demand around €30 million to sell 22-year-old Spanish striker Gonzalo Garcia in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arsenal and Newcastle United are interested in Real Madrid attacking prospect Gonzalo Garcia. The two Premier League clubs are keen on reinforcing their offensive units by signing a striker ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The latest report has revealed Real Madrid’s asking price, with Los Blancos demanding €30 million to part ways with the Spaniard in the upcoming transfer window. The Spanish giants believe the amount “reflects their confidence in his potential”. However, it is unclear if Arsenal and Newcastle United are ready to meet the valuation.

How has Gonzalo Garcia fared since his Real Madrid breakthrough?

Gonzalo Garcia is the latest prospect to graduate from Real Madrid’s La Fabrica division. While the Merengues have not seen many academy graduates establish a foothold in the first-team squad, those youngsters have made their mark elsewhere. However, Garcia has received some opportunities at the Santiago Bernebau since enjoying his breakthrough at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Since then, Garcia has been a backup player in the 2025/26 season, managing 1,190 minutes of game time in 33 mostly substitute appearances thus far, chipping in with six goals and two assists. Meanwhile, the Spanish striker’s progress has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs, with Arsenal and Newcastle United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Arsenal’s interest in Gonzalo Garcia makes sense. The Gunners are combing the market for a striker, as Gabriel Jesus faces an uncertain future at the Emirates. Additionally, Kai Havertz has struggled with a few fitness issues in the last 12 months. So, with Viktor Gyokeres gradually absorbing the challenge of being a Premier League striker, Arsenal must sign a centre-forward.

As for Newcastle United, Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa have been unreliable since arriving at St. James’ Park. Additionally, recent reports have suggested that a move away from the Tyneside club may be on the cards for Woltemade. So, Newcastle United must dip into the market for a striker again this year, with Garcia an option worth considering.

Real Madrid’s asking price of €30 million makes Garcia an appealing target for Arsenal and Newcastle United, as he will be a low-cost addition to their offensive units. However, the Spanish giants have defined the conditions for sale, as they do not want to “completely relinquish control over his future”.

So, the deal will include “clauses such as a percentage of any future sale or a favourable buy-back option”. This has been “a common practice in the club’s recent policy regarding young players”, including the sale of Nico Paz, Jacobo Ramon, and Chema Andres, among others. It will be interesting to see if Arsenal and Newcastle United agree to such demands to facilitate a summer move worth €30 million.
