Getafe are interested in acquiring the services of West Ham United flop Niclas Fullkrug ahead of next season.
Niclas Fullkrug, who is currently on loan at AC Milan, has failed to impress at the Italian club, and he is set to return to his parent club, West Ham United, after the end of the season. However, he might not have a future at the Premier League club, and his future seems to be up in the air.
According to a report from Fichajes, Getafe have emerged as a potential destination for the 33-year-old striker. The La Liga outfit are interested in signing the veteran striker, as they seek more quality and depth in the final third.
On the back of his impressive performances for Borussia Dortmund, the Hammers forked out around €30 million to add the German striker to their squad. While they had massive expectations from him, Fullkrug hasn’t been able to live up to them.
Fullkrug’s failed West Ham move
In his debut campaign in London, he struggled with injuries and could only make 20 appearances. The 33-year-old had just three goals to his name. In the first half of the 2025/26 season, he featured in nine games for the Hammers and failed to find the back of the net.
After falling down the pecking order, he ended up joining AC Milan on loan during the winter window. Since moving to Italy, he has been involved in 16 games, but he has only one goal to his name. His performances haven’t impressed the Rossoneri, which is why they are not even considering a permanent move.
They do have a bargain buy option of just €5 million, but they have no intentions of triggering it. The decision is already final from their end. He is set to return to West Ham, but is not a part of their plans moving forward.
Getafe are ready to sign Fullkrug
As a result, his departure looks inevitable. With him potentially available this summer, Getafe have emerged as a potential destination for the 33-year-old. The La Liga outfit are currently pushing for a European spot, and they have already started planning for next season.
They seek more quality in the final third and are looking for someone who can compete as well as support Borja Mayoral. Getafe want an experienced striker who can pin back the defenders, and Fullkrug certainly fits the bill. It will be interesting to see if they do manage to land him.
