Tottenham Hotspur have established contact as they look to sign Galatasaray midfield mainstay Gabriel Sara this summer.
While Galatasaray’s impressive run in the Champions League ended last month at the hands of Liverpool in the round of 16, quite a few of their stars caught the attention of top clubs in Europe. Gabriel Sara is one of the players who has attracted a significant amount of interest on the back of his performances.
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Tottenham are one of the clubs that are keen on signing him. They are looking to move ahead of the competition and establish themselves as favourites. The North London club have already made initial contacts with those close to the Brazilian, as they look to register interest in his services.
Following an impressive spell at Norwich, the 26-year-old made the move to the Turkish giants in the summer of 2024 and hasn’t looked back since. In the ongoing campaign, he has been involved in 39 matches across competitions and has even contributed towards nine goals.
While he prefers playing as a number eight, he is capable enough to take up an advanced role. His performances have even helped him make his international debut last month under Carlo Ancelotti. Sara is in contention to be a part of the Brazil squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
While the 26-year-old is focused on finishing the season in the best possible way and securing a spot at the global event, multiple top clubs are already gearing up to make a move for his services.
Tottenham want Sara in their squad this summer
Tottenham are looking to secure his services, and the player also seems keen on returning to the Premier League. While multiple clubs are monitoring his situation, Spurs have already taken the lead as they have been in contact with people close to Sara.
While Galatasaray are not actively looking to cash in on him, the report suggests an offer of around €45 million could do the job. Spurs certainly need more quality in the centre of the park, but it still remains unclear whether they would be willing to fork out that kind of fee for the Brazilian international.
Tottenham will have to ensure they stay in the Premier League for them to stand a chance of signing the 26-year-old. The final phase of the season will have a big say on their pursuit of the Galatasaray mainstay.
