West Ham United open to Tomas Soucek sale this summer

West Ham United will entertain offers for 88-cap Czech Republic international Tomas Soucek in the summer transfer window, thus handing a boost to Everton’s prospects.

According to a report by Football Insider, long-serving West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek may not have a future at the East London club beyond the 2025/26 season. The Hammers are “open to the idea of letting [the experienced] midfielder” depart from the London Stadium in the coming months.

The latest report is good news for Everton, with the Merseyside outfit mulling over a summer deal for the player. David Moyes is keen on reuniting with the Czech midfielder in the 2026/27 season, having brought the best out of him during their time together at West Ham.

How has Tomas Soucek performed for West Ham United?

Tomas Soucek has been one of the most dependable midfielders in the Premier League since joining West Ham United from Slavia Praha. The East London club initially signed the 31-year-old on loan in January 2020 before completing a permanent move in the subsequent summer transfer window.

The 88-cap Czech Republic international has been a mainstay in the middle of the park for West Ham in the last half a dozen years, making over 250 appearances thus far while chipping in with 46 goals and 13 assists. Soucek’s instincts to chip in with crucial goals have made him an asset, and his exploits have stimulated the interest of several well-known clubs, with Everton among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Everton contemplated signing Tomas Soucek last summer, but a deal did not materialise. The continued interest makes sense, as the Toffees are combing the market for a midfielder heading into the summer transfer window. With Idrissa Gueye in the twilight of his career, Everton must consider bringing in a replacement for the veteran Senegalese midfielder.

Additionally, it is unclear if Merlin Rohl will complete a permanent move to Everton after the 2025/26 season. Several candidates have thus emerged on the Merseyside club’s wishlist, with Soucek also a viable target. The 88-cap Czech Republic international’s extensive Premier League experience adds to his appeal, and his familiarity with David Moyes’s system should help him hit the ground running at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

With West Ham open to selling the 31-year-old Czech midfielder in the summer transfer window, Everton will have the opportunity to seal a bargain deal for the Moyes favourite. Soucek will enter the final 12 months of his contract in June, and he will not fetch a big-money fee for West Ham.
