Khephren Thuram could be sold by Juventus this summer

Juventus may cash in on 25-year-old French international Khephren Thuram in the summer transfer window amid his links with Liverpool and Manchester United.

According to a report by Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in Khephren Thuram. The two Premier League heavyweights are keen on reinforcing their first-team squads by signing a versatile midfielder heading into the 2026/27 season.

The latest report has brought good news for Liverpool and Manchester United, as Juventus may sanction the Frenchman’s departure in the upcoming transfer window. While the Serie A giants want to tie Thuram to a new contract, they could cash in on him if they fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, as they need to keep their financial strength in mind.

How has Khephren Thuram performed for Juventus?

Khephren Thuram has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Juventus from OGC Nice in a deal worth €20 million in July 2024. Born in Italy, the 25-year-old spent his formative years in France and graduated from the youth division at AS Monaco. However, the player rose in prominence during his spell with OGC Nice.

As for his stint with Juventus, Thuram has been in and out of the starting lineup, making nearly 100 appearances while chipping in with eight goals and 12 assists. However, the French midfielder’s stock remains high, with Liverpool and Manchester United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature this year.

Will Thuram move to the Premier League soon?

Khephren Thuram has been on Liverpool’s wishlist for a long time. The continued interest is understandable, as the Reds are scouring the market for a versatile midfielder due to uncertainties surrounding Wataru Endo’s long-term future. Additionally, signing a player like Thuram will create a dynamic midfield combination with Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister, as all three players can reprise all roles in the middle of the park.

As for Manchester United, Casemiro will leave the Premier League club as a free agent after the 2025/26 season. Additionally, Manuel Ugarte has been a liability throughout his spell at Old Trafford. So, with Manchester United pushed into a situation where they need to sign multiple midfielders this summer, a flamboyant player like Thuram is an appealing target.

Liverpool and Manchester United now have hope in the battle for the 25-year-old Frenchman’s signature due to Juventus’s financial predicament. The Premier League clubs will hope the Serie A giants fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League to have a chance of landing Thuram. While Luciano Spalletti reportedly wants to keep the youngster at the Allianz Stadium, a renewal will not be on the cards unless his team secures a top-four finish.
