Liverpool submit fresh enquiry to seal Michael Olise move

Liverpool will aim to sign 24-year-old French international Michael Olise from Bayern Munich to replace the departing Mohamed Salah in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Bayern Munich attacker Michael Olise is the subject of interest from Liverpool. The Reds are keen on bolstering their offensive unit by signing a versatile wide attacker in the upcoming transfer window as they prepare for Mohamed Salah’s departure as a free agent.

The Premier League champions have intensified their efforts to sign the Frenchman by submitting a new enquiry. However, a summer exit is not on the cards for Olise, as he is happy at Bayern Munich. Additionally, he would prefer to move to Spain if and when he calls time on his stint at the Allianz Arena.

Michael Olise and his journey at Bayern Munich

Michael Olise has established himself as one of the world’s best players since joining Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace in July 2024. The 24-year-old was among the most promising attackers in the Premier League when he moved to the Allianz Arena, and he has made substantial progress in the last 18 months.

The French international has been the creative force for Bayern Munich in the final third, and he has enjoyed an excellent 2025/26 campaign thus far. Olise has scored 16 goals and provided 27 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs, with Liverpool among his prospective suitors.

Premier League return on the horizon?

Michael Olise has been on Liverpool’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, as the Premier League champions are preparing for life after Mohamed Salah. The veteran Egyptian attacker has confirmed that he will call time on his illustrious spell with Liverpool after the 2025/26 season, and he will leave as a free agent.

So, Liverpool must identify a player who can score regularly and bolster the team’s creativity in the final third. Olise has thus emerged as a viable target for the Merseyside club, with his eye for a goal and vision making him the ideal profile to take over from Salah ahead of the 2026/27 season.

However, a summer move may not materialise, as Olise has no interest in leaving Bayern Munich anytime soon. The Bundesliga champions are also eager to keep the 24-year-old Frenchman at the Allianz Arena for the long haul. So, Liverpool must look elsewhere to replace Salah as the search for his long-term replacement begins.
