Derby County set to demand “bumper price” to sell Patrick Agyemang

Derby County will reportedly demand a ‘Bumper Price’ to sell key striker Patrick Agyemang amid interest from Leeds United.

According to Football Insider, Patrick Agyemang will cost significantly as Derby County are expected to demand a ‘Bumper Price’ for the in-demand striker. Leeds United are considered an interested suitor for the 25-year-old striker, as Daniel Farke is set to reassess his centre-forward options in the summer.
Leeds United were looking to add a new centre-forward in January, amid links to several players. Speculation pointed towards a potential departure for Piroe at the time, but Leeds United were reluctant to lose him unless they signed a replacement beforehand.

Given the complicated nature of the January window as well as the time constraints, Leeds United did not sign any players in the centre-forward role. One player they were linked then was Patrick Agyemang, as Leeds United maintain an admiration for the Championship striker.

Agyemang, 25, has been instrumental for Derby County this season, scoring 10 goals and four assists for the Championship side. His performances have helped the team climb to eighth in the standings, which keeps them on track to achieve a play-offs spot at the end of the season, as they are only three points behind in that regard.

Derby County are anticipating offers for Agyemang in the summer, but they will only sell him for a ‘Bumper Price’, thus highlighting his importance for the team. There is competition from the likes of Crystal Palace, who were keen during the January window, but the arrival of Jørgen Strand Larsen probably ends their pursuit of the striker with 14 goal contributions this season in the Championship.

Why are Leeds United interested in Patrick Agyemang?

Daniel Farke is expected to assess his striker options, with Piroe likely to depart in the summer, while the German boss wants additional cover for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha. Given how Leeds United set up on the pitch, they need good depth in the centre-forward area.

Agyemang is seen as a good addition for their present and future, as Leeds United could approach the attacker over a move. Derby County’s failure to make the play-offs might open the door for the 25-year-old to make his move to the top flight, especially if teams like Leeds United come in with an offer.
