Adri Mehmeti is emerging on the radars of many top clubs, with Arsenal and Chelsea mentioned as key suitors in the race for the teenager.

According to Sports Boom, Adri Mehmeti could be a player to watch ahead of the summer, with the MLS prodigy now firmly on the radars of Arsenal and Chelsea. The teenager is rousing interest from these top clubs owing to just a few performances, as his club, the New York Red Bulls are angling for a record sale.

The MLS is steadily becoming a league that European clubs are constantly monitoring when it comes to emerging talents. New York Red Bulls, part of the revered Red Bull Group, are famous for developing quality players through their system, and using their multi-club model, may have produced another top prospect for the future.

Adri Mehmeti is the said player, who is coming in high demand from European shores. The player caught the eye of many when playing for RB Leipzig, albeit only representing the German side in the Premier League International Cup Under-21s, and has already made his debut in the MLS.

He has three appearances for New York Red Bulls this term, with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal now angling to make a move. The 16-year-old MLS prodigy also holds dual citizenship of the USA and Albania, which makes him eligible for certain European countries — namely, France, where PSG are keen. Bayern Munich are also interested in signing him, as they are ready to take their chances as they did with Alphonso Davies.

However, the big attraction is coming from the Premier League, where Arsenal and Chelsea are impressed by the player’s early displays. At only 16, he has good physicality, has shown some terrific play on the ball, and has been tremendous off the ball too — traits which are well-suited to a top English club in the current moment.

New York Red Bulls to Sell Mehmeti?

It is understood that RB Leipzig might be given priority in the queue should the clubs within the Red Bull Group agree that this might be the right pathway for the player. The footballing group are eager to see his value reach near the €50 million mark, although should they have no choice but to sell him to either Arsenal or Chelsea, the MLS side will demand a sum of €15–20 million, which would represent a record sale of sorts.

Chelsea are also interested in Julian Hall, one of the New York Red Bulls’ other emerging stars, and have now reportedly held informal talks for Mehmeti. Arsenal’s status remains unknown in the race, but they hold a strong interest, viewing the 16-year-old MLS prodigy as a fine addition to their developmental squad.
