Liverpool fail with enquiries for Bradley Barcola, Desire Doue

Paris Saint-Germain will not entertain offers for French attacking duo Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue are the subjects of interest from Liverpool. The Reds are eager to bolster their offensive unit by signing versatile attackers in the summer transfer window. So, the Paris Saint-Germain duo have emerged as targets for the Merseyside club. However, the Premier League champions have failed with enquiries for the Frenchmen, with PSG knocking them back.

How have Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue fared at PSG?

Desire Doue has established himself as one of the world’s best young prospects since joining Paris Saint-Germain from Stade Rennais in August 2024. The 20-year-old French attacking sensation was already a sought-after prodigy before joining PSG, and he has made significant progress since then.

Doue has made nearly 100 appearances for PSG thus far while chipping in with 25 goals and 22 assists. As for Barcola, the 23-year-old has established himself as one of the best players in Ligue 1 since joining PSG from Lyon in August 2023. The French attacker did not take long to find a stable footing at Parc des Princes, and he has been a regular for Les Parisiens in the last two and a half years.

Barcola scored 36 goals and provided 36 assists in 139 outings for PSG. Meanwhile, the Frenchmen’s exploits for PSG have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. Liverpool will be among the prospective suitors vying for their signature in the summer transfer window.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Liverpool’s interest in Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue makes sense. While the Merseyside club signed several attackers last summer, they need more quality and output from the flanks. Additionally, Mohamed Salah’s long-term future is uncertain, with several Saudi Pro League clubs keen on securing his services in the summer transfer window.

Several candidates, including Yan Diomande, have thus emerged on Liverpool’s wishlist, with Doue and Barcola also being viable targets. The Premier League champions have also stepped up their interest in the French attacking duo by submitting enquiries to PSG.

However, the 2024/25 Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League winners have turned Liverpool down, as they have no interest in parting ways with Barcola and Doue in the summer transfer window. Additionally, PSG will aim to “further secure the futures of both players” in the coming months. So, Liverpool must look elsewhere for wide attackers, as the Frenchmen are not leaving Les Parisiens anytime soon.
