Chelsea set to contact Bayern Munich for Aleksandar Pavlovic deal

Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing 21-year-old German international Aleksandar Pavlovic from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Chelsea and Manchester City are interested in Aleksandar Pavlovic. The two Premier League giants are keen on reinforcing their first-team squads by signing a versatile midfielder in the summer transfer window. So, the 21-year-old Bayern Munich prospect has emerged as a target for them.

The latest report has revealed that the Blues have planned talks to sign the youngster, and they will soon approach Bayern Munich to discuss a possible deal. Meanwhile, the Citizens have already held informal talks for a summer move. However, Pavlovic is prioritising remaining at the Allianz Arena beyond the summer transfer window.

How has Aleksandar Pavlovic fared at Bayern Munich?

Aleksandar Pavlovic has established himself as one of the world’s most promising young midfield prospects since breaking into the first-team squad at Bayern Munich. The 21-year-old spent his formative years in Germany, passing through the academies at SC Olching and SC Furstenfeldbruck before graduating from the youth division at Bayern Munich.

Pavlovic has made nearly 100 appearances for Bayern Munich thus far, chipping in with six goals and four assists. Meanwhile, the German midfielder’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. Premier League giants, in particular, have been interested in Pavlovic, with Chelsea and Manchester City among the prospective suitors vying for his signature going into the summer transfer window.

Premier League adventure beckoning?

Manchester City’s long-standing interest in Aleksandar Pavlovic is understandable. Rodri has endured a regression after spending a significant time in the treatment room in the last 18 months. Additionally, the Spanish international is a long-term target for Real Madrid, and a summer exit may be on the cards. So, Pavlovic is a viable target, with Manchester City holding informal talks to sign the Bayern Munich whizkid.

As for Chelsea, it is unclear why the Blues need a midfielder unless Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez depart from Stamford Bridge. Apart from the duo, Liam Rosenior has Andrey Santos, Dario Essugo, and Romeo Lavia in his squad, with Reece James also excelling as a midfielder. So, it is unclear how Pavlovic fits into the scheme of things at Chelsea.

Nevertheless, the Blues plan to approach Bayern Munich to hold talks for a summer deal for Pavlovic. However, Chelsea and Manchester City face an uphill task to land the 21-year-old German international, who wants to remain at the Allianz Arena beyond the summer transfer window.
