Manchester City eyeing summer move for Carlos Forbs

Manchester City will reportedly look to sign 21-year-old Portuguese international Carlos Forbs from Club Brugge in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Carlos Forbs is the subject of interest from Manchester City. The Citizens are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a winger in the summer transfer window. So, the 21-year-old Club Brugge winger has emerged as a target for the Premier League club.

However, Manchester City will not be alone in the battle for Forbs’s signature, as the youngster is also a target for Atletico Madrid. The Spanish giants are keen on signing the Sintra-born winger after witnessing his exploits first-hand in the UEFA Champions League clash with Club Brugge.

Carlos Forbs is the latest promising prospect from his homeland to rise in prominence. Several prodigies from Portugal have burst into the spotlight in recent years, and Forbs has added to that growing tradition. Born in Sintra, the 21-year-old spent most of his formative years in Portugal, passing through the academies at NADC Sintra and Sporting CP. However, he graduated from the youth division at Manchester City.

The Portuguese international could not break into the first-team squad at Manchester City, and he has risen in prominence since moving to Belgium last summer. Forbs has enjoyed a solid debut season with Club Brugge, scoring six goals and providing nine assists in 37 outings across all competitions thus far. His progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Manchester City and Atletico Madrid.

Manchester City’s interest in Carlos Forbs is understandable.
