Liverpool sources have dismissed suggestions of talks with Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers’ camp over a potential summer move.
According to Team Talk, Liverpool have denied any contact with Morgan Rogers’ camp ahead of their rumoured interest. The 23-year-old Aston Villa star signed a new deal back in November, but that has not deterred the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United from making their admiration for the attacker known.
Morgan Rogers is a player on the shortlist of most top teams in England and even on some from abroad. The 23-year-old Aston Villa star has been instrumental for the Birmingham giants since signing for them from Middlesbrough a few years back.
Aston Villa secured Rogers to a six-year deal back in November, when speculation was rife over his future. Despite the new contract, speculation has continued to rumble in the background as a host of top teams are still interested, with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool some of those keen.
Chelsea are willing to pay big to sign Rogers, as they have maintained an interest in the 23-year-old Aston Villa star since last summer. The Blues are in a position to invest big in players they deem to be a big part of their future, as they are seen as one of the firm contenders for Rogers.
Manchester United are also part of the race, with the Red Devils keeping close tabs on the progress made by Rogers at Aston Villa. The club are also looking to invest in proven players, with the 23-year-old Aston Villa star certainly one of those they will pounce on if an opportunity arises.
Are Liverpool not part of the Rogers race?
Liverpool were also seen as contenders, but sources close to the club have denied rumours of contact with his camp. The 23-year-old Aston Villa star is a top name for the Merseysiders to consider as a potential option, but they are currently distancing away from speculation linking Rogers to Anfield.
However, that does not rule out a potential approach in the summer or in the coming period, as Liverpool will surely show an interest if Aston Villa makes him available. The Merseysiders will be part of the race if the conditions are right, but will face intense competition for the 23-year-old Aston Villa star.
