Liverpool could be dealt a massive blow in their hopes of pursuing Michael Olise, with Bayern Munich firm on their stance.
According to Team Talk, Bayern Munich have made it clear that Michael Olise is not for sale, thus dealing a severe blow to Liverpool’s plans of pursuing the winger. The France international is seen as the closest profile to Mohamed Salah, as the Mersyesiders considered him the ideal replacement for the Egyptian ahead of next summer.
Michael Olise has taken his game to the next level since joining Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024. The France international is now a pivotal part of Vincent Kompany’s side, with his numbers this term alone showing tremendous signs of progress on a personal level.
Olise has 13 goals and 25 assists to his name across all competitions this season, which has prompted widespread interest in his signature. Bayern Munich are aware of the admiration from elsewhere, but they are determined to keep hold of him for as long as possible.
While there’s a general feeling that the 24-year-old Bayern Munich star will leave the Bundesliga giants at some stage in his career, it certainly is not next summer. The Bavarians are protected by a contract until 2029, and now they are planning to open talks over a new deal, which would all but end speculation surrounding Olise’s future.
Liverpool had been very interested earlier, and have continued to keep tabs on the 24-year-old Bayern Munich star with a view to pursuing the attacker next summer. Bayern Munich have no desire to sell as they have closed the door by insisting Olise is not for sale, which will be a massive blow to the Merseysiders.
Liverpool to offload Mohamed Salah?
Liverpool felt that Olise was the closest option that represented the output of Mohamed Salah, with the club ready to offload the Egyptian next summer. There was speculation around January over Salah’s imminent departure, as a summer move looks more likely, as Al-Ittihad were reportedly in talks with the attacker.
As for Olise, they had considered approaching the 24-year-old Bayern Munich star in the summer once they finalise Salah’s future. But with Bayern Munich closing the door on Olise’s departure, Liverpool may pursue alternatives, with names like Yan Diomande mentioned as options.
