Liverpool ahead of other Premier League clubs in Yan Diomande race

Liverpool are leading the race to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, amidst interest from rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Yan Diomande has only gone from strength to strength since joining RB Leipzig. He seems to have taken his game to the next level, and his impressive rise has resulted in interest from clubs across Europe.

Some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League are after his signature, and according to a report from TEAMtalk, Liverpool are believed to be ahead of the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United in the race for his signature.

Diomande had a short, impressive spell at Leganes before making the move to the German club last summer. The 19-year-old winger has been on fire for the Bundesliga outfit. He has been involved in 24 matches across competitions and has contributed towards 15 goals (9 goals, 6 assists).

Those are exceptional numbers for a teenager who has little experience at the highest level. While he prefers playing out wide on the left, he is equally dangerous on the opposite flank. His impressive performances and massive potential are major reasons why every top club wants him.

While his contract at Leipzig runs until the summer of 2030, they will struggle to keep hold of him for long. But they will certainly have the upper hand in negotiations and will only let him leave for a fee close to €100 million. People at the German club believe he is the most talented player to enter their system since Erling Haaland, and the interest in his services certainly justifies it.

Premier League giants to battle for Diomande

Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all keen on his signature. The Gunners see him as an ideal upgrade for Gabriel Martinelli. Diomande could make the left flank his own at the North London club.

Meanwhile, he is a perfect fit for Chelsea’s project that revolves around signing the best young players. They see him as a missing piece in their jigsaw. At United, he could replace Marcus Rashford, who is currently on loan at Barcelona and certainly has no future at Old Trafford.

While all three clubs are ready to offer him a prominent role, Liverpool are believed to be leading the race for his signature. They see him as an ideal long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah. The Reds had sent scouts to Germany to watch him in action over the weekend.

Their scouts watched him bag a goal in Leipzig’s 2-2 draw against Wolfsburg. But they were not the only club, as scouts from Arsenal, Chelsea and United were also spotted in the stands. While there is no shortage of suitors, Liverpool’s interest is viewed as the most advanced. They are certainly front-runners at this stage.
