Real Madrid have rejected the possibility of signing Bernardo Silva in the summer despite his potential availability on a Bosman move.
According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid have no interest in chasing Bernardo Silva on a free transfer during the summer. Florentino Perez was reportedly presented with the idea to sign the experienced Manchester City star, but the factors around the move make it less appealing for the Santiago Bernabeu chief.
Bernardo Silva’s future is still up in the air ahead of the summer when his current deal with Manchester City expires. The experienced Portuguese star remains one of the high-performing players under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, but with his deal expiring, a host of top teams are already working on securing him on a Bosman move in the summer.
Barcelona are one of those pushing to get a deal in place, as they have been chasing Silva for a few years now. The player might have more than just them in the race, as former side Benfica are also interested, while Saudi side Al-Nassr are also ready to enquire.
Juventus were in talks to explore a move, as per a few reports, as Silva’s future certainly has no direction as things stand. Manchester City are reportedly willing to offer him a new deal, which could also become an option for the experienced midfielder ahead of time.
There have been rumours that Real Madrid might have also shown some interest. The story states that the experienced Manchester City star’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has reportedly offered the midfielder to Florentino Perez, but it has not gone to plan.
No Real Madrid move for Bernardo Silva?
Real Madrid have reportedly rejected the idea of signing Silva for various reasons. The story states that Perez is not eager to bring the star who earns 18 million a year at Manchester City, and the fact that Silva will turn 32 in August, Perez has no intention to bring in an ageing star to the club.
Real Madrid are looking for a new midfielder who can bring a good level of creativity and energy into their game, as Silva does fit that specific bill. However, Peprez is looking for a longer-term solution, something he believes the experienced Manchester City star cannot offer at this moment in time.
