Chelsea will face stiff competition from Crystal Palace, Everton, and AS Roma in their pursuit of Bournemouth defensive mainstay Marcos Senesi.
According to a report from AS Roma live, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton, and AS Roma are all keen on signing Marcos Senesi, who is gearing up for the next chapter of his career. With his contract running down, all four clubs are eyeing a free transfer ahead of next season.
Senesi made a name for himself while playing for Feyenoord before joining Bournemouth in the summer of 2022. He has only gone from strength to strength since moving to the Premier League. The South American defender has been involved in a total of 115 matches so far, and he has even contributed towards 15 goals.
Despite his contract situation, Marcos Senesi remains an integral part of their first-team plans. The 28-year-old centre-back has been involved in 26 matches this season, and he has bagged four assists. Given how important he is to their plans, the Cherries obviously want to renew his contract and secure his long-term future.
Chelsea to battle multiple top clubs for Senesi
Bournemouth have not found any success in talks with Marcos Senesi yet, and renewal now looks very unlikely. With the experienced centre-back all set to be available for a free transfer, multiple top clubs are gearing up to make a move. Chelsea are the biggest contender for his signature.
Liam Rosenior wants more quality and depth at the back. Senesi will bring in a lot of Premier League experience, which could help the youngsters around him. While the Blues are keen on his signature, they will have to battle Crystal Palace, Everton, and AS Roma.
Following Marc Guehi’s departure, the Eagles will be in the market for a new defender next summer and snapping up Senesi for free could be a huge deal for them. Even the Toffees would love to sign the Argentine defender to get their defensive act together.
Meanwhile, AS Roma retain interest in Senesi, who is on the lookout for the best possible move. The Italian giants are ready to initiate a move for the 28-year-old. They feel he could become one of their mainstays at the back.
