Aston Villa are keen on signing Real Madrid forward Brahim Díaz, with Unai Emery pushing the club to make a move for the Spanish attacker.
Aston Villa are looking to further bolster their squad in the ongoing transfer window. Unai Emery seeks another star forward to help the club take the next step. He wants to compete for all major titles going forward and believes a star player like Brahim Diaz could help his team’s cause.
According to a report from Fichajes, Emery is pushing Aston Villa to sign the Moroccan international, who did wonders at the recently concluded African Cup of Nations. With Brahim Diaz struggling to get regular minutes at Real Madrid, Villa are looking to lure him away.
Diaz initially joined Real Madrid back in 2019, but he had to undergo multiple loan spells before finally getting an extended run in their first team. Following an impressive two-year spell at AC Milan, Carlo Ancelotti made him an integral part of their setup.
Despite not being a regular starter, Diaz was racking up a significant amount of minutes and making a difference on the pitch. However, a lot has changed this season. He didn’t have a prominent role under Xabi Alonso, and things haven’t really changed since his return from the AFCON.
While his contract at Real Madrid runs until the summer of 2027, Diaz is seriously considering his future. The Moroccan international could look to join a club where he could have an integral role.
Aston Villa keen on Diaz’s signature
His camp is already at work, and Aston Villa have emerged as a potential destination. People at the English club are very keen on acquiring his services in this window, following a request from their manager. They have already begun formal enquiries to confirm his availability.
The Villa management are aware that Los Blancos are in no rush to cash in on him. As a result, negotiations with the Spanish club won’t be that straightforward. However, a move cannot be completely ruled out, as Real Madrid won’t mind cashing in on him for the right price.
Alvaro Arbeloa’s team reportedly want around €60 million to sanction his departure. With offers from London clubs already approaching €52 million, Villa certainly have a tough task at hand. If they are willing to meet Madrid’s demands, things could actually move forward.
