Chelsea set asking price for Cole Palmer amid Manchester United interest

Manchester United will have to break the bank and fork out €200 million to sign Chelsea attacking mainstay Cole Palmer.

Cole Palmer has only gone from strength to strength since joining Chelsea. He has not only established himself as one of their mainstays, but he is also widely regarded as one of the best attackers in world football. On the back of his impressive rise and consistent performances, multiple top clubs want to sign the English international.

According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United are one of the clubs that are keen on signing Palmer. The Manchester-based giants are looking for a new leader for their attack, who can help bring back the glory days. They consider the Chelsea star an ideal fit for their project and have made him a priority target.

However, they will struggle to negotiate a deal with Chelsea. The London club consider him untouchable unless a massive financial offer arrives. The Blues would want them to present an offer worth €200 million for the 23-year-old attacking midfielder.

Palmer came up the ranks at Manchester City, but he ended up moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2023 in search of a more prominent role. The move to Chelsea has helped him take his game to the next level.

Manchester United want Palmer

Not only has he been clinical in the final third, but Palmer has also stood up in difficult moments and has been one of the leaders of this young Chelsea team. His performances, abilities and massive potential have placed him on Manchester United’s wishlist.

The Red Devils are looking to make a marquee signing who can help them compete with the best teams in Europe. They feel Palmer is the perfect fit because he has enough Premier League experience, has the quality to make an immediate impact and has age on his side.

United could build a medium as well as long-term project around him. The Red Devils are quite serious about their pursuit, and they are set to make an initial offer worth €120 million. It certainly won’t be enough as Chelsea won’t let go of their best player unless there is a record-breaking offer on the table.

They want at least €200 million, the price set by Chelsea for his release. Given their high demands, it will be interesting to see if United go all out to try and land him at Old Trafford.
