Celtic eyeing permanent move for David Datro Fofana

Celtic are interested in signing the Chelsea attacker David Datro Fofana.

According to a report from Football Insider, they are hoping to sign the 23-year-old striker on a long-term deal. The player has no future at Chelsea and he needs to move on. Signing for Celtic on a long-term deal would be ideal for him. He needs to play regularly at this stage of his career, and the Scottish outfit will be able to provide him with that opportunity. They need more quality and depth in the attacking unit, and Fofana would be the ideal acquisition.

Regular football in Scotland could bring out the best in the 23-year-old striker and help him fulfil his potential. Sitting on the bench at Chelsea will not make much sense for him. Chelsea recently brought the player back from his loan in Turkey, where he scored eight goals in 15 appearances.

Celtic were hoping to sign the player on loan this month, but they have now changed their decision and they are hoping to secure his services permanently. Chelsea are also keen to get rid of the striker before the January window closes. It will be interesting to see if Celtic come forward with an acceptable offer to sign the player.

Chelsea are unlikely to demand a premium for the attacker, and the player could be available for a reasonable amount of money. Celtic must do everything in their power to get the deal done. They are fighting for the league title and they need more depth up front. The 23-year-old could make a big difference for them if he manages to adapt to Scottish football. He did quite well during his loan in Turkey, and there is no doubt that he has the quality to thrive in Scotland as well.

Chelsea will be hoping to use the funds from his departure to improve the team. They need to plug multiple gaps in their squad if they want to do well during the second half of the season and secure Champions League qualification for the upcoming campaign.
