Manchester United left-back prodigy is reportedly on the verge of joining EFL Championship club Norwich City on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season.
According to a report by The Athletic, Harry Amass has been the subject of interest from several EFL Championship outfits. However, while many clubs have been keen on signing the Manchester United wonderkid, they have lost the battle for the 18-year-old full-back’s signature to Norwich City. The youngster will undergo his medical tests on Thursday before sealing a loan move until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Who is Harry Amass?
Harry Amass is one of the latest promising prodigies to graduate from the fabled academy at Manchester United. The Red Devils have produced dozens of world-class prospects throughout their history, with many going on to have legendary careers with the Premier League giants. Amass earned his senior bow under Ruben Amorim last season, and the Englishman made several appearances in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.
The 18-year-old spent the first half of the 2025/26 season with Sheffield Wednesday, chipping in with one goal and one assist in 21 EFL Championship outings. However, even though he won two Player of the Month awards, Manchester United cut short Amass’s loan stint. The youngster will now embark on another temporary move away from Old Trafford, with Norwich City on the cusp of securing his services.
Championship return on the horizon?
Recent reports linked Harry Amass with several EFL Championship clubs, including Stoke City. However, the teenage sensation is on the cusp of joining another second-division club, with Norwich City winning the battle for his signature.
Like Sheffield Wednesday, Amass’s loan club in the first half of the 2025/26 season, the Canaries are scrambling to avoid relegation from the EFL Championship. Manchester United will hope the 18-year-old Englishman can secure regular game time in the coming months, as he did during his stint with the Owls.
While Sheffield Wednesday wanted to keep Amass until the end of the 2025/26 season, that will not happen. A report by Sky Sports journalists Anthony Joseph and Dan Khan has revealed that the English full-back prodigy will undergo his medical on Thursday. It will be interesting to see how the youngster fares at Carrow Road in the coming months.
