Manchester City are plotting another raid on Bournemouth as they look to sign their midfield sensation, Alex Scott.
Manchester City have been one of the most active teams in the ongoing transfer window. Pep Guardiola is determined to add more quality to his squad and has already signed Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth and Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.
The duo’s arrival certainly strengthens their attack and defence, but the Spanish isn’t satisfied just yet. He is also keen on signing a new midfielder, and according to Fichajes, City are ready to raid the Cherries for the second time in this window. The Manchester-based giants are gearing up to make a €60 million offer to sign Alex Scott.
The 22-year-old came up the ranks at Bristol City and made a name for himself while playing for their first team before joining Bournemouth in the summer of 2023. The young midfield sensation has been involved in 74 matches so far and has even contributed towards eight goals.
While he prefers playing as a central midfielder, Scott is capable enough to feature in any role in the centre of the park. His consistent performances for the Cherries haven’t gone unnoticed. His contract with the clubs runs until the summer of 2028, but it seems City want to prise him away.
City are making moves to sign Scott
The English midfielder has become a priority target for Guardiola, who is optimistic about him having the desired impact at the highest level. Since his price keeps going up, City consider it the right time to sign the 22-year-old.
He has taken his game to the next level under Andoni Iraola, and City have been keeping tabs on him for months. They want to sign him in this window and slowly integrate him into their first team. His intelligence on the ball, versatility and ability to press have impressed the Spanish manager, who is pushing for his signing.
City are reportedly prepared to fork out €60 million to sign the English midfielder. While Bournemouth are reluctant to sell him, they are aware that keeping hold of him for long won’t be easy, and a significant financial offer will certainly tempt them.
