Everton table bid to sign Youssef En-Nesyri, player stance revealed

Everton will reportedly look to sign 28-year-old Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri from Fenerbahce in the winter transfer window after making an offer to the Turkish club.

According to an update by reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Youssef En-Nesyri is the subject of interest from Everton. The Toffees are keen on bolstering their offensive unit by signing a striker in the winter transfer window. So, the 28-year-old Fenerbahce centre-forward has emerged as a target for the Merseyside club.

The Toffees have submitted a bid for a loan deal with a purchase option worth €20 million to sign the Fez native in the winter transfer window, and they are in talks with the Turkish outfit to seal a January deal. Meanwhile, reputed German journalist Florian Plettenberg has revealed that En-Nesyri is also a target for Nottingham Forest. However, the “feeling at Fenerbahce is that he favours a move to Everton” this month.

How has Youssef En-Nesyri fared at Fenerbahce?

Youssef En-Nesyri has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Fenerbahce from Sevilla in July 2024. While the 28-year-old was among the most prolific attackers in the Turkish Super Lig in his debut season with the Yellow Canaries, his output has dropped this term.

The Moroccan international has managed only eight goals and one assist in 25 appearances thus far in the 2025/26 season. However, En-Nesyri’s stock remains high, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs, particularly from the Premier League. Everton will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the winter transfer window.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Everton’s interest in Youssef En-Nesyri is understandable. The Toffees have been scouring the market for a striker heading into the winter transfer window, as Beto and Thierno Barry have not been consistent enough in the first half of the 2025/26 season. Additionally, Beto’s long-term Everton future is uncertain, and interestingly, intermediaries recently offered him to Fenerbahce.

Several strikers, including Jorgen Strand Larsen, have thus emerged on Everton’s radar, with En-Nesyri also a viable target. The Toffees are ready to intensify their efforts to sign the former Sevilla striker, having submitted a bid for a loan deal with a purchase option worth €20 million to secure his services.

While the Fenerbahce striker is also a target for Nottingham Forest, the Turkish giants feel he wants to join Everton. Meanwhile, talks between Everton and Fenerbahce will continue in the coming days, and the Yellow Canaries are “open to discussions for either a loan move or a permanent transfer” in the winter transfer window. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the 28-year-old Moroccan international.
