Newcastle United are keen to tie Bruno Guimaraes down to a new contract as they look to fend off interest from PSG, Real Madrid, and Manchester City.
Bruno Guimaraes’s future has once again become a massive talking point as multiple top clubs from across Europe want to prise him away from Newcastle United. The Brazilian international has only gone from strength to strength since joining the Tyneside club.
The Brazilian is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world, and it is quite understandable why clubs like PSG, Real Madrid, and Manchester City are after his signature. The Magpies are aware of the increasing interest, and according to a report from TEAMtalk, they are set to open renewal talks with the 28-year-old to fend off interest from the European giants.
After making a name for himself at Lyon, Bruno Guimaraes joined Newcastle United at the start of 2022 in a deal worth £35 million. The player has not looked back since, and he has been an undisputed starter for Eddie Howe’s team.
European giants want Bruno Guimaraes
Thanks to his consistent performances, there has never really been any shortage of interest in Bruno Guimaraes’s services. While multiple top clubs have been after him, Newcastle United have somehow managed to keep hold of him so far. However, things are becoming difficult for them with City, Real Madrid and PSG ready to break the bank for the 28-year-old.
While his current deal runs until 2028, it contains a £100 million release clause. All three European giants have a long-standing interest in him and can certainly trigger his release. Newcastle United are aware of the situation, and since they do not want to lose out on him, they are all set to hold contract renewal talks with the Brazilian.
Newcastle United to offer Guimaraes improved terms
Newcastle United are willing to offer Bruno Guimaraes a new lucrative deal to ward off interest from PSG, Manchester City, and Real Madrid. They have no intentions of letting him leave, and sporting director Ross Wilson has started working towards a potential renewal.
The 28-year-old is already their highest-paid player, but they are still willing to offer him improved terms to ensure he continues at the club. More importantly, they are pushing to remove the release clause for his contract, and his camp is open to the possibility.
