Arsenal happy with Ben White, rule out January sale

Arsenal defender Ben White has been linked with a move away from the North London club during the January transfer window.

Ben White has struggled for regular opportunities at Arsenal, and he is on the radar of Everton and Manchester City. The two Premier League clubs are looking to add more depth and quality to the defensive unit, and they are interested in the Arsenal utility man.

However, a report from TEAMtalk has claimed that Arsenal are happy with the Englishman, and they do not want to lose him in January. The Gunners paid £50 million for the defender when they signed him from Brighton.

Ben White has not been a regular starter for Arsenal, but there is no doubt that he is a quality player, and he could be useful for Arsenal during the second half of the season. The North London outfit are pushing for the league title and the UEFA Champions League.

They need quality and depth in the team, and keeping White at the Emirates would be ideal. It will be interesting to see if Manchester City or Everton decide to test their resolve with a loan proposal in the coming weeks.

Ben White needs game time

The English internatioanl has struggled for regular opportunities at Arsenal, and he could be tempted to join Manchester City or Everton if there is a suitable proposal on the table. The 28-year-old needs to play regularly at this stage of his career.

Sitting on the bench at Arsenal will not benefit him. He is capable of operating as a central defender as well as a right-back. Apart from his defensive qualities, the Englishman is quite impressive with the ball at his feet, and his distribution could add a new dimension to the Manchester City or Everton team.

Everton and Manchester City could certainly use someone with his skill set during the second half of the season. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks. The England international defender is at the peak of his career, and he needs to play regularly. If Arsenal cannot provide him with that opportunity, he should look to move on.
