Antonio Rudiger wants Real Madrid stay, rejects Al-Nassr approach

Chelsea have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger, who has already turned down an approach from Al-Nassr.

Antonio Rudiger’s future has become a massive talking point, as his contract at Real Madrid runs out at the end of the season. According to a report from Fichajes, Al-Nassr have already approached the German defender regarding a move to the Middle East in the ongoing winter transfer window.

However, they have suffered a blow as Rudiger has no intentions of leaving the Spanish giants mid-season. Meanwhile, Chelsea are also keeping tabs on their former defender and would love to bring him back, but it seems the German international would prefer to continue at Real Madrid beyond this season if possible.

After a five-year-long spell at Stamford Bridge, Rudiger moved to the La Liga giants in the summer of 2022 on a free transfer. He has been an integral part of their plans over the last few years and has played a big part in all the success they have had.

While he has had a few injury issues of late, he still remains a very key part of the team under Xabi Alonso. However, with his contract running out, multiple top clubs want to prise him away. Florentino Perez is well aware of the situation, but is in no rush to hand him a new deal.

Los Blancos will continue to monitor his fitness levels and performances until the end of the season, and will then decide whether to hand him a new deal or allow him to leave for free next summer. Chelsea are one of the clubs that are keeping tabs on him.

Rudiger wants to continue at Real Madrid

While the Blues’ project revolves around signing the best young players, Liam Rosenior wants to bring an experienced campaigner at the back. He wants more stability, and someone like Rudiger could help the youngster with their development as well.

But they have suffered a blow in their pursuit, as Rudiger wants to continue at Real Madrid. Al-Nassr have already approached him with a big money offer upon Cristiano Ronaldo’s request. However, he has turned it down.

While the Saudi giants are ready to pay €10 million for a move in the ongoing window, the German international doesn’t intend on leaving the club anytime soon. He would love to extend his stay beyond this season.
