Arsenal rival Liverpool, Manchester City in Marc Guehi race

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has been linked with a move away from the South London club in recent months.

Marc Guehi will be out of contract in the summer, and Crystal Palace could be under pressure to sell him this month. They might not want to lose the 25-year-old defender for free at the end of the season, although Oliver Glasner has suggested a January exit is not on the cards.

The English international is valued at £35 million this month, and a report from Spanish outlft Fichajes has claimed that Arsenal have now joined Liverpool and Manchester City in the race to sign him.

It will be quite surprising if Arsenal decide to make a move for the England international. They are already well-stocked in the defensive unit. The Gunners have quality central defenders like William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes. They will not be able to accommodate the Crystal Palace star in the starting lineup. Guehi will not want to sit on the bench at a top club, and the move to Arsenal does not make much sense for him.

Liverpool and Manchester City keen on Guehi

Liverpool are keen on the player as well, albeit for the summer transfer window. The Reds were very close to signing him during the summer transfer window, but the move did not go through. The Premier League champions remain interested in the 25-year-old, and they hope to get the deal done in January.

They may lose Ibrahima Konate at the end of the season, and Joe Gomez has been quite injury-prone. Liverpool need to invest in a quality central defender, and Guehi would be an exceptional acquisition.

Finally, Manchester City are also keeping tabs on his situation for a January move. They need an upgrade on players like John Stones and Nathan Ake. The Crystal Palace captain would be the ideal acquisition for them, and it remains to be seen whether they can win the race for his signature.

Guehi helped Crystal Palace win the FA Cup and the Community Shield recently, and he would be an excellent addition for all three clubs. They have the resources to pay £35 million for him, and whoever ends up signing the English defender will have a star on their hands.
