Thomas Frank’s Tottenham Hotspur are front-runners to sign West Ham United attacking mainstay Jarrod Bowen.
While the second half of the season is still to be played, West Ham United find themselves in a very difficult position with regard to their survival in the English top flight. Their 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest, a direct rival in the battle for survival, has set alarm bells ringing.
They are seven points off safety, and given the kind of form they have been in, they will find it very difficult to stay up. In the event of a potential relegation, the Hammers will have to part ways with some of their top players, and Jarrod Bowen will definitely be one of them.
Multiple top clubs in the country are keeping a very close eye on the English international, and according to a report from Fichajes, Tottenham are one of the clubs that want to sign him. The North London club are believed to be the most serious suitor, and they seem to have an edge over other clubs.
Bowen joined the Hammers back in 2020 and has only gone from strength to strength since. He is considered to be one of the best forwards in the Premier League and would walk into the starting XI of most teams.
In the 2023/24 season, he contributed towards 22 league goals, and he backed it up with 23 goal contributions last season. While the London club have struggled throughout the ongoing campaign, the 29-year-old still has seven goal contributions.
Bowen could join Tottenham next summer
Given how important he is to them, the Hammers are seriously worried about losing him. Their only chance of keeping him at the club is to ensure they do not go down to the Championship. But as things stand, it looks very difficult.
Tottenham are looking to significantly bolster their attack by signing a Premier League-proven player, and they see Bowen as a strategic option in the event of West Ham’s relegation. His experience in the top flight and his ability to feature on both flanks make him a very attractive option for them.
While there are other top clubs that have their eyes set on him, Spurs seem quite serious about their pursuit of the 29-year-old. They are already laying down the groundwork to ensure they do not miss out on him.
