Barcelona planning loan move for Savinho

Barcelona are planning a loan move for Savinho ahead of the future windows, as they may not sign Marcus Rashford permanently.

According to Fichajes, Barcelona are considering a move for Savinho in the future windows as they seek a replacement for Marcus Rashford. The Catalans are now ruling out a permanent move for the Manchester United winger due to financial constraints and eye the Manchester City star on loan in the future.

Savinho had an indifferent summer window, as he was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham then. The north Londoners were pushing to get a deal done for the Brazilian winger. At one stage, Manchester City appeared receptive to the idea of selling the attacker, but had a change of heart.

Savinho has since signed a new deal at the Etihad, taking his stay until the summer of 2031. While his performances have left a lot to be desired this term, the winger is not starting games with any regularity, which has opened speculation over a January move.

Tottenham are eager to understand his stance before launching a move for the winger, as Manchester City might sell him if they land Antoine Semenyo. With the Brazilian already experiencing irregular game time, the arrival of the Ghanaian could diminish that further.

Savinho might push for a winter exit from Manchester City if Tottenham are to come in for him again. However, there’s another big suitor in the mix, as Barcelona are considering a move for the Brazilian, although the feeling is that they may not have immediate plans to do so.

Savinho to Barcelona?

Savinho was being looked at by Barcelona as a potential replacement for Raphinha, although the equation at the club has changed. Now, they are looking at the South American talent from Manchester City as a replacement for Marcus Rashford, with the Catalans now ruling out triggering the buy option in the winger’s contract and sending him back to Manchester United at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, they are only plotting a loan agreement for Svinho, and are willing to cover the major chunk of his salary should the move materialise. It remains to be seen whether Manchester City are receptive to the idea, although the move may work in their favour should the Brazilian perform there at a high level, which may in turn allow them to retain a high market value for the winger.
