Everton could offer Beto in deal to sign Artem Dovbyk amid West Ham United links

Everton, keen to beat West Ham United in the race for AS Roma striker Artem Dovbyk, could offer Beto as part of a swap deal.

According to a report from AS Roma Live, Everton and West Ham United are both keen on signing Artem Dovbyk, who does not seem to have a prominent role at AS Roma under Gian Piero Gasperini. The Serie A giants are ready to sanction his departure, and the Toffees are making plans to beat the Hammers to his signature.

After making a name for himself with his impressive performances at Girona, Dovbyk made the move to AS Roma in the summer of 2024. While he made a promising start to life in Italy with 21 goal contributions in his debut campaign, the arrival of Gasperini last summer has seen him go down the pecking order.

The new Roma boss does not consider the Ukrainian international an ideal fit for his style of play. As a result, he has only racked up 564 minutes in his 14 outings across competitions. While he has contributed towards four goals, Dovbyk has had a rotational role this season.

AS Roma are looking to add more quality to their squad in January, and before they push for new faces, the Giallorossi will look to cash in on a few of their players. Artem Dovbyk is a part of that list, and there is a significant amount of interest in his services.

West Ham and Everton to battle for Dovbyk

West Ham United are one of the clubs that are keen on Artem Dovbyk’s signature, and they have already made an enquiry. The Hammers lack firepower in the final third, and with Niclas Fullkrug set to join AC Milan when the transfer window reopens, they are desperately looking for a new striker.

Dovbyk is considered an ideal fit for their system as well as the project. However, they are set to face stiff competition from Everton. Despite having added Thierno Barry to their squad in the summer, the Toffees want to bring in another striker who can compete with him for a place in the XI.

The Merseyside club are willing to go all out to sign Dovbyk. They have already reached out to AS Roma and are willing to offer Beto, incidentally a target for West Ham United, as part of a swap deal. The 27-year-old has not delivered the desired results at Everton, and they are hoping adding him to the deal will bring down the overall cost of the operation.
