West Ham United need to pay €22 million to sign Artem Dovbyk, AS Roma await bids

West Ham must pay at least €22 million to land striker target Artem Dovbyk, with AS Roma open to selling the Ukrainian attacker in January.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness, Artem Dovbyk will be sold by AS Roma if they are to receive offers of at least €22 million. The Ukrainian striker is a target for West Ham United ahead of the January window, as Niclas Fullkrug is pencilled in for a departure from the London Stadium.

West Ham United are set to find themselves at the centre of a striker merry-go-round, as they are planning to sign a frontman ahead of the January window. Nuno Espirito Santo is set to prioritise the arrival of a new centre-forward over other positions, as goals have been coming at a premium this season from his senior stars in the role.

Niclas Fullkrug is linked with a switch to AC Milan as things stand, as the Hammers are ready to part ways with the expensive and experienced German international. He has clearly not worked out in this system, as the Hammers now consider bringing in a new name, with plenty of options being linked over the last many weeks.

Wolves star Jorgen Strand Larsen is also a name on their list, although it is AS Roma’s Artem Dovbyk who is gaining momentum ahead of the January window. The Ukrainian striker was offered to the Hammers, as per a report, as AS Roma are open to selling him in the winter window.

The Italians are keen on the cash injection from the 28-year-old Serie A striker’s sale in January, to let them invest the money in new players. West Ham are not the only team linked, as Everton are also reportedly interested in Dovbyk.

How much will Artem Dovbyk cost?

After joining Roma in the summer of 2024, after a tremendous season with Girona in Spain, Dovbyk had a decent first campaign at the Italian capital giants. However, his importance has dwindled since, as Roma are ready to cut short his stay and are demanding €22 million plus bonuses to sell him in January.

West Ham are certainly a club with the capacity to pay as much for the 28-year-old Serie A striker, as they could assess the market before making a decision. The Ukrainian could be a good addition for the team, given he could revive his goalscoring form at the London Stadium under Espirito Santo and replace the ineffective Fullkrug in the process.
